What is "Gobbledygook"? What does "Gibberish" mean?

Are you already scratching your head ? You must be wondering, "Are 'gobbledygook' and 'gibberish' even English words?"

The answer is YES.

Gobbledygook = language that is hard to understand (e.g. Sometimes no one understands the gobbledygook of scientific reports.)

Gibberish = meaningless talk or writing (e.g. Jack used words from 7 different languages to form one sentence, so everyone thought he was speaking gibberish.)

So which - "gobbledygook" or "gibberish" - has a closer meaning to the word "nonsense"? Post your answers!

Here's a clue: watch this funny music video called "Gibberish" featuring Japanese anime. The singer is singing absolute gibberish half the time! Check it out to see what I mean!
